The rack moves one alien per frame. That is why it ripples, and why it speeds up as you thin it out.
One shot on screen at a time. Holding fire does nothing; tap it.
Alien fire gets faster at 200, 1000, 2000 and 3000 points.
The saucer pays 50 to 300. Count your shots: the 8th, then every 15th after it, pays 300.
The last alien moves 3 px right but only 2 px left.
If the rack reaches your cannon, the game ends no matter how many lives remain.

Combo multiplier. Keep killing within 2.5 seconds to climb from x2 at 3 hits up to x5 at 15. Getting hit doesn't break it; only the timer does.
Shoot the saucer and catch the pod it drops. S is a spread shot, P is a laser that pierces the rack, R rebuilds your shields. S and P last 10 seconds and let you fire without waiting.
The soundtrack builds as you thin the rack and climb the combo.
